The labor day weekend went on so so. Friday night was GT Sixflags night. Since last year, the SGA (student government association) has been organizing a trip to sixflags for GT students. It is a pretty cool time and place to be. Many rollercoasters and other fun events. I had to take Himanshu, Richa and her roommate with me. We reached there around 6:00pm and returned around 10:45pm. Exhausted but exhilarated.
On saturday Jitesh, Abhinav and I went on a hiking trip in north Georgia. Unfortunately, the park was closed for the season. So instead we went to the Tocoa falls near Mt. Airy. It is a tall waterfall with a very short path leading to it from the Tocoa Falls College. We sat there for a while and decided to go to Helen, GA.
Helen is a small town situated in a valley. It is a tourist town with "german" architecture. So, we looked around. I spotted a hot-boiled-peanut shop and we bought a packet. Sitting by the river, we chomped on the hot-boiled-peanuts and watched people tubing in the river. The journey back home was rather uneventful.
Arnab had friends come over from Tenessee. A girl and a guy. They wanted to go clubbing and wanted to be drunk. So Jitesh and I, the only two non-drinking guys got to be designated drivers. We went to the "Tongue and Groove" bar and dancing club and had fun.
Sunday I worked and in the evening gave a ride to Himanshu and Richa. They had cooked some Kadhi and came to our place. We had good food, watched a movie by the name of "K-PAX".
Now it is Monday, Labor day in USA. Everyone is having fun and for us grad students, it is time to get back to work; because tomorrow the holidays end.
