Haven't read books for a while, but I should. I picked up an old issue of National geographic at Arnab's home at Oakridge; it was some special issue containing National Geographic's best 100 pictures. Well some of the pictures were really good, but some others I just could not figure out why they were there; guess people have different tastes. Also, if you ever come across that issue you might realize that some pictures are good because they capture the moment and its intensity. The picture might be blurry, grainy badly exposed or whatever, but it is the moment that counts. Sometimes, trying your best is enough.
I had been poring over a research idea for quite a few days. Bummer, does not seem like it is worth working on.
Last friday we had gone on a NTG biking, a total of ten people (Constantinos, Amogh, Ruomei, Ravi, Qi He, Sridhar, Richard, Pradnya, Me and later Yarong on rollerblades) went biking. A few minutes in the biking, Ruomei who was biking on the front braked hard, Sridhar was looking sideways at the mile marker and did not notice it and slammed into Ruomei. Ruomei got a good scratch at her knee and we had to give her first aid. Luckily Constantinos carries a first aid kit. Sridhar was feeling guilty and Richard did not miss an opportunity to take a picture of the wound. Ruomei thought she was feeling OK, so we continued biking for another 8-9 miles. On the return journey we met up with Yarong, she was totally beat with the rollerblading and needed some water to continue further. At the end of the biking episode, we met up Near the Sports Authority in Cobb and took some ice-cream to make up for the lost calories ;)
