The chronicles of Sanjeev Dwivedi

Yesterday I watched the movie "Before Sunset (released in 2004)". It is a different and interesting kind of movie. When I entered the PhD program, a professor made a joke in one of the introductory classes that once you enter the PhD program, you start using the word "interesting" a lot. So, anyway, after the movie finished, all I could say was "interesting"!

Supposedly, the movie is a sequel to the movie "before sunrise" released in 1995. The first part dealt with a boy and a girl meeting on a train to vienna and how they fall in love and make love on the night they meet. They go thier own ways but promise each other that they will meet in six months in Vienna. Apparently, that is where the movie finished.

In the sequel, it has been shown that nine years have passed, they did not meet in Vienna as they promised, the boy has grown up to become an author and has written a book about that night and it has become a best seller. He has come to Paris to meet his fans and he meets the girl in the bookstore. She has read the book, that is how she found him and has come to meet him. They talk like old friends that ran into each other and even though the guy has to catch a plane, he seems to linger on, talking with the girl. They share many feelings and reminisce over things gone by long ago. The whole move is shot between the duration the guy meets the girl after meeting his fans in the library, goes for a quick coffee and stroll with her and the time of the departure of his flight to America. Nice movie.

In related news, Rangeela seems to be doing well. As soon as the food is put in the bowl, you can see him racing to the surface and gobbling it up like a little pig. Once in a while, he decides to flare his fins and scare me. Oooh, I am scared.
